The Chippendale Trophy

The Chippendale trophy is played for each year with all clubs in the association taking part. A random draw is made during the January committee meeting. There follows a series of knockout rounds within the two sections (‘A’ and ‘B’). The winners of each section take part in a grand final, usually on the home course of that years President.

Rules

All players must present on the day a written handicap certificate before play

A team shall consist of 2 players, one 16-20 handicap and one 21-28 handicap.

All member clubs may enter 2 teams. The form of the competition shall be a foursome played over 18 holes from scratch as match play on a knock out basis. If the game is tied on the 18th, play will continue until a hole is won .

The winners of the ‘A’ and ‘B’ sections shall play off on the same basis over 36 holes.

Both the semi-finals and the final shall be on neutral courses to be arranged by the Honorary Secretary, the semi-finals to be on a 9-hole course and the final to be played on a 18 hole course.

A player who plays in the ‘A’ Team shall NOT be eligible to play in the ‘B’ Team and vice-versa. Penalty for such infringement shall be the disqualification of the team.

Failure to notify the Competition Secretary of the result by the winning team by the final date of each round will result in disqualification.
